The whole board has gone quiet. Think everyone is waiting for everyone else to say something that has not been repeated some time before, but it gets harder and harder to find something ::)

Plenty of guests viewing, but they may be members who have not logged in, just to see if there is anything new. :-\

Oh well roll on summer, getting close now :)

Facebook + TripAdvisor are mostly to blame.

But the people that run this place don't help; it's not even the "Zante 2015" forum any more....it's "SMF" (whatever the hell that is) because nobody can be bothered to do a thirty second job changing the title.

This type of forum can still work well; the football one I help run is thriving, it just needs some interest and a bit of innovation from those at the top. But they're probably too busy on Facebook to realise ;).

It's a shame.

I can remember a time when it was fun, lots of banter, lots of members old and new posting every other day or every day.

Social media has done quite allot of damage, I will say this and some may not like me saying it but it got to a point where you couldn't say anything of a joke without certain members complaining or arguing and the site become boring and repetitive.

It would be good to see some folks coming back more regularly.  FB has a lot to answer for as does TA but a forum where people are of like minds about a destination does have its place but needs promoting by the owner of the board.  Can't remember the last time I saw forum admin logged in.

Im guilty of this - I haven't been on this site in a long while - Iv had the odd look as a guest from time to time but that's it.

I remember when it used to be buzzing on here - some good banter was had. It is sad to see it so quiet , but some of the topics that have been started are just silly - there are a couple of topics on at the moment that make me wonder what people are thinking about in the build up to their holidays ::)

We are giving Zante a miss this year, visiting our Daughter on the Balearic islands instead - but will be back next year.

To every one going this year - Have a brilliant time x

Ps.What colour socks should I wear on Thursdays?? ;D

Can't remember the last time I saw forum admin logged in.

I know he was out on Zante staying at Costas. I believe he was out there selling advertising space on the site. Seems pointless paying for advertising on here if its quiet.  :(

Yes I would just add I cant help but agree with all the comments,we have been going to Argassi for quite a number of years.
We always viewed  this chat as it was good to hear what was going on.

We started looking at another one on Go Zakynthos site but when we registered and posted  messages we found the regulars quite insular and never replied.

So it would be great to get the Argassi chat going again, well it is the the best resort on Zante.

Hi we're off to Argassi 25th June going via Liverpool Thomas Cooks prices from Glasgow are extortionate  this year,so luckily enough we managed to get a great deal with easyjet,200 mile drive but still well worth it,and good flight times as well.
Anyone else  heading to Argassi.

Well is anyone going to Argassi june-july this year we're going 25th june for two weeks, thought we would struggling this year flights from glasgow with TC rediculous prices being quoted.
Luckily enough we saw someones post about easyjet starting to fly this year from liverpool the saving was unbelievable,so it was a bit of a no brainer. The flight times are good so the 200 mile drive is not so much of a problem, but the saving makes it easier as well.
Lots more drinking vouchers in the wallet.
So roll on the 25th looking forward to sitting at Denys few mythos, ouzos, brandys, think I best stop for now getting carried away here.

We're looking forward to our first stay in Argassi this year. We've stayed in Kalamaki a few times and love it but joining friends and staying at the Meridien Beach in September. Can't wait  :)

Hi folks I'm sure you'll enjoy Argassi, the Meridien looks a really nice hotel, there's lots of great restaurants.our favourites are Peppermint,Papilion and Simply Greek is good as well there's another one which is very popular and you really have to book is Ethnic.
I know I've mentioned it before but Waves beach bar run by Deny is a great place to relax during the day and in the evening, his food is very good and very reasonably priced.

Hope you in enjoy your holiday in argassi.

yes it's a shame that the Argassi board has gone quiet...I always check it before we come to Argassi to find out if anything has changed. We absolutely LOVE Argassi and it will be our 12th year this year in July and we can't wait.  8)   Our favourite places are Peppermint, Papillon, Ethnic and Target Bar...the Greek night there is a must... :D

I always look in most days and post anything relevent to help others especially. I do use Tripadvisor but not Facebook. Used to use the rival forum to this on Zanteweb but it's died a total death this season.

Well we're off tomorrow morning 1st Oct back to Argassi staying at the Family Inn, we've been staying there for many years now and just love it, the family who own the hotel are great.
We were there end of June to July for two weeks  and had a great time, so going at this time of the year is new for us, might do the paragliding again which we did for the first time ever at the water sports down next to Denys waves beach bar. We're not the 18-20s club, we're the 60-70s club LOL.
Anyway flying from Liverpool again with Easyjet as TC from Glasgow is so expensive.
Really looking forward to it.

Have a great time.  We thought Argassi was really busy when we were drove through a few times in June and seemed more or less the same a couple of weeks ago. Good to see more people around the island generally this summer.  Weather the last couple of weeks was amazing, very hot the first week, a quick storm and then a more normal upper 20/ 30c  :)

Argassi very quiet now. Avalon and Magik bar closed already with more to follow very soon. Beer Academy should be closing by 10th October, perhaps sooner.

Yes Christos it is quiet now,we were saying to the barman in our hotel about places that have closed already,he said Avalon might open at weekends .The weather still nice though about 26 degs yesterday although cooler in the evening.

Magik will open at weekends for the locals, as will Avalon. Think Avalon are having some work done before they re-open.

Yey....I'm back. Not from Zakynthos, sadly, but Lesvos. Not going to go on about Lesvos though, will be back to Alykanas next September. Think when the end of the season comes this message board does tend to quieten down, I do like to read all the comments from members though so any news/info is great :)

Most of the people who use to use this site are on facebook, they all still go to argassi but a few had fall outs with the guys running this site sadly, shame really as I have been told that a lot of people who book to go to Zante they check this site for advise so hopefully they will go and enjoy themselves and join the site and become a Zante lover like us all

You are right Bill, lots of people I know have been impressed by the posts on this site and have booked holidays because the posts on here are usually genuine and tell it as it is, which everyone likes. Most of us who post on here are true Zante fans and only wish the islanders and businesses well. The occasional negative post is always justified, and it is only by having balance that the readers can be assured of the integrity of the site.
It's a shame that people don't post reviews much any more. They are always good to read as they bring such happy memories back - particularly on a good old British winter's day!!

It's a real shame the way the whole site has gone quiet over the years. The Argassi message board was one of the busiest ( if not the busiest) boards with lots of active members posting most days. There was always lots of helpful info as well as a lot of great banter. Unfortunately one or two members (who don't post nowadays anyway) objected to some of the humour & constantly complained to admin & as they were Kalamaki regulars their opinion counted more than others. When some of the Argassi regulars complained about this some were banned & others just gave up. The annoying thing about it all is that the main 'clique" of people that did the complaining have deserted the site anyway.  It's a real shame because this site is unique in its concept of a combination of Zante 'fans" who are willing to pass on their knowledge & there was always a flow of new members asking for that info. It had the friendly "chat room" atmosphere that Facebook & trip advisor just can't replicate. You certainly can't get away with the banter that was an everyday feature of JustZante on the likes of TA.
Ah well, if only we could go back to the "good old days".   :-\
It would be nice to see some of the old faces/names return.

Yes it'd be great if more people posted comments. I probably post too much ( can imagine visitors saying "not her again"   when they see my name) , I always enjoy reading others comments though and so much relevant information can be posted on here.

I think as long as we are here it can only help newbies going to argassi, and I am sure Sophia when you are on about Zante you can never post to much  ;D

Think the problem is with places like trip advisor etc and then you get very complicting and sometimes very negative reviews and opinions that 000's of people see. There's a thread on the Kalamaki forum on there that has spiralled out of control that seems to be a personal vendetta against a certain hotel and a few restaurants in resort.

I'd much rather hear personal views on places like this, shame more threads aren't started or commented on.

Noticed a thread recently on Trip Advisor re the best time to visit Zakynthos to avoid mosquitoes which escalated & had some unhelpful comments plus plenty of comments taken down due to being inappropriate...aren't some people strange? I mean to get into an argument about mosquitoes

That's ridiculous.

I have in the past though got into many arguments with mosquitoes flying around my head at night-time ;D. Luckily (?) I suffered profound hearing loss a couple of years back so no longer a problem! Every cloud eh?

Just been looking at the message board, see very little mentioned for Argassi recently . So thought it's time it got a mention. We've booked to go next June to mid July staying again at the Family Inn really looking forward to it, it's such a relaxing easy holiday . Of course got Peppermint right next door as well. Also another favourite of ours is Waves beach bar catching up with Denny and his hospitality !!!!!!!!.
So it would be good to hear other peoples comments and get this message board going and roll on next June. It really helps during this cold wintry weather in Scotland.

The beach that most people see down from the crossroads is a bit poor but there's actually a fairly decent stretch to the left (as you look at the sea) past the Kamara Beach Hotel by the bridge. There's sunbeds, decent sand & a shallow, sandy sea. its a nice place, especially for kids who like the sea.
