Sounds like my kind of walk Gloom, well done.
We are there on the 9th July and wonder if it may be a little warm then.
Did you stop for lunch and can recommend anywhere.
Amazing when you bump into snakes, once walked up to Zia in Kos with my daughter who was five at the time and we got a few miles up with her on my shoulders and the snakes had to be seen to be believed.
No one believed us so my wife went with us next next time by bus of course and saw a sight or two that you couldnt make up.
Will enjoy this but need a lunch break.

Yes  stopped at the cafe in Loucha for a toastie and glass of fresh squeezed orange juice. There are a couple of very authentic tavernas in Giri as well. The rest of the walk is open hillside beyond Katastari so you will need to take plenty of water and perhaps some crisps or somethng.

Oxo will see you in Oct....why drive ? don't you fancy the walk ?

     Mr Gloom,
thank you for the offer to WALK to Loucha.
Unfortunately Matron as only given me a 14day pass,
so perhaps we could go on your silver slick machine or
my red Ferrari.Your light lunch could be a toasty with
orange juice and i would have Chateaubriand.
