Just did ours for a Ryanair trip at the end of the month....have to enter the info when you check-in online (which you have to do now, no airport check-in at all).
So traumatic...double/triple/quadruple checking the info because you just know that if you make a mistake it's going to cost a fortune to put right (boarding card re-issue is £40 each).

That's just one more reason not to travel with Ryanair along with the knowledge that Michael O'Leary is a prize t**t and you have to pay a quid to take a dump.

He is (a prize t**t).....but they didn't bring in the "Pay-as-you-go," not yet anyway.

We've never travelled with them before and were very hesitant to do it....but £26 return to Reus (which they laughably call Barcelona) was too good to pass up. Only a week-end so we've not even had to pay the £15 per flight per bag checked baggage fees.

is this the same guy that did this ?

"In 2004 he purchased a taxi plate for his Mercedes-Benz currently a 2007 Mercedes S500, to enable it to be classified as a taxi so that he could legally make use of Dublin's bus lanes to speed his car journeys around the city. A press report suggested that he was stopped driving his own taxi, he employs a driver with full psv licence. In 2005 the Irish transport minister expressed concern at this abuse by O'Leary and others."

I’ve used Ryanair a few times and as long as you understand all the terms and conditions they can offer you the cheapest deals around.  I booked them for a trip to Ibiza in September and even with all the add-ons (luggage, booking fee, card fee etc) they were still under half the price of any other carrier.  Easyjet can be just as awkward if you get the booking wrong and make a mistake.  I’m sure that Michael O'Leary only says a lot of the things that are reported for the publicity and it works.  They are one of the biggest carriers in the UK.

I agree Phil having read the above webpage, most of his off the cuff comments and/or outburst happen to coincide with major new changes to Ryan Air (new routes etc).. He’s not daft by any means. Smiley

Just entered mine
all OK but entered the Thomas cook reference and it would not accept it, so put in the Manos reference and then it was alright,
Printed off the details using the option, to take with me to the airport as proof, just in case it  gets lost in the system when I get there!(trusting type me Grin )

BigOpete makes a valid point.  Sometimes the airport is not where you think it’s going to be.  You must check the airport name before booking.  I know they don’t fly to Barcelona but to an airport about 50 Km away but they call it Barcelona until you check the small print.

I still think they are good value if you do your home work.

I know they don’t fly to Barcelona but to an airport about 50 Km away but they call it Barcelona until you check the small print.

They fly to two "Barcelona" destinations; Girona which is 103km north-east and Reus which is 109km south-west.

To be fair though it's not "small print," it's completely clear from the start of the booking process. You'd have to be fairly daft not to notice it.

When you select Barcelona it gives you the choice...

Don't know about other destinations but given the huge amount of publicity given to the subject you'd need to be fairly naïve not to check.
