We  Grin 8)stayed at the Mavrikos in September 2009 and these apartments are great, and are of a good standard for Greece. We had a two bedroomed apartment and it was two double bedrooms, we a nice kitchen, microwave toaster, free Air Con . The apartments have a nice pool and there is a Hotel block as well doing meals ect. There is a nice pool bar serving meals, a large swimming pool and a lovley small childrens pool which is on it own for kids. It is a five minute walk to the main street.

the Maveikos is  a really nice hotel but is not suitable for people with walking difficulties, it is up a very steep hill and is not central to the resort.
the Lazarous is very central and set just back for the main road and I have heard great reports about it.  Also the Planet apartments, or the Contessina Hotel get very good reviews, all of these are suitable for people who may have walking difficulties.

your best bet would probably be to book at the lazaros .... it has a great new bar built at the front called the breeze bar ..... you won`t get much more central than these !!!

hi,
contessina seems to be what you are looking for, really nice hotel, b+b, very clean and central for beach + bars, restaraunts, which there are plenty, located in top half of tsilivi, you can always have a nice stroll into lower part of town, just follow main road past irish bar ect down a short hill and sample rest of bars, restaraunts of which there are too many to mention then you can hire a horse and carriage back to hotel for 10 euros, well worth it. best bars for us were 2 brothers, sunset next to contessina and irish bar, good food was at zeus, georgios, happy hols 2010,

We have stayed at the Plaza Pallas 8 times, it is close to the beach, bars, shops and restaurants. It's  central to the whole resort. Can be booked through Monarch, On the Beach, or direct with the hotel.
