Contessina Tsilivi

well. where do i start. when we got there we were greeted with a smile and a complimentry glass of orange juice, brilliant we thought. we were shown to our room no 507 and was surprised as we were lead to believe that all rooms had been refurbishes, which they havnt. the bathroom was so tiny, when u sat on the toilet your feet were in the shower tray, so you had to sit at a funny angle. sideways. our 3rd bed was a rusty old campbed with a rough army blanket on. so we settled in and that was that. then we got talking to other couples and found out that they had a refurbished room. beautifully decorated, large double bed. and a proper single bed. largish bathroom and was completely different to ours. they had over booked the rooms and were putting people up in the studio apartments in the sunshine bar next to the hotel, until rooms became availavle and then were moving them back into the hotel. Two couples were thrown out of there room after paying for 7 nights and and being evicted after there 6th night which they complained about to the rep, they were told cause they were leaving on night flights they wernt entitled to stay that night, which was confusing. and to top it off the icing on the cake was, there was a wedding party in the hotel and they had other guests staying in different hotels and coming to the contessina to visit there friends, guests from the contessina were using the sunbeds and left towels on while they went for lunch and the guests from the other hotel arrived and complained that there were no sunbeds for them, so they guy from behind the bar took the towels off the sunbeds and gave them to the people who had just arrived from other hotels. which was totally out of order as the people who had paid money to stay at the contessina ended up laying by the pool on towels. and no this is not sour grapes as i wasnt the one whos sunbed had there towels removed. i just think that if u pay good money to stay here you should have priority, so if i was you i would email the hotel and ask for a refurbished room. .... and just be aware we were not told that there is a fuel shortage in greece as the tanker drivers were on strike, so when we got to the airport we were told there was only enough fuel to get us to corfu so we had to stopover and refuel there. hope you dont have the problems we experienced and have a great holiday.
