Had a look at the packages this morning - for some context, we originally booked 13th to 27th August flying out of Manchester with Thomas Cook. 2 adults, 2 kids, 2 bedroom apartment with extra baggage allowance for three of the four of us. With TC, that originally came to £2650 - I later changed the flights in the package to the same date but flying from Liverpool with Easyjet instead and this dropped the price to £2500 (after adding in £150 admin costs to make the changes).
With TUI, the same holiday, flying from Manchester on Friday 14th to 28th (no Thursday flights with TUI) prices up as £3100 (though there is a £150 discount you can apply when booking) - so for the equivalent deal, it's £300 more expensive than Thomas Cook for us.
My perception has always been that TUI is a bit more expensive than Thomas Cook - this kind of backs up what I thought.
It doesn't directly affect us because the morning after TC's collapse, I booked flights separately and the 2 bedroom apartment at Dennis Studios instead (knowing we would get the refund from ATOL) - roughly the same price as our original Danny's booking with TC (although for 18 nights rather than 14

)
Danny's has always been our favourite hotel in the resort, but we have stayed at a number of places - Draganikos, Zante Garden, Zante Flower, Thetis and now Dennis Studios - am happy to stay anywhere as long as we get our Alykanas fix, but while I'm happy that Yannis has got a new contract in place, I think there's a reasonable chance this means we will not be booking any packages at all anymore (and, as a result not staying at Danny's). Shame, but we'll be happy to spend a few days around the pool there instead.
TUI having almost a monopoly on packages now isn't going to help keep prices down either
