Anyone had a last minute holiday to Zakynthos?
« on: October 14, 2020, 05:01:29 pm »
Hi, since the reopening of the travel corridor with , amongst other Greek islands, Zakynthos was wondering if anyone has taken advantage of a very last minute break or been able to go on their planned holiday here ?

Nope we should still be in Cyprus now but being in lockdown in Cardiff still we have no immediate plans to travel anywhere. Friends of ours flew out to Alykanas this week after being cancelled several times earlier this year. They’ve taken advantage of one of the acommodation offers being advertised paying just 10 euros per night each for a S/C room. From what they’ve posted on other social media they’re having a good time despite things being very quiet out there.

I'm due to fly to Fuerteventura with Jet2 in early November but should the flight be cancelled, I may book a Wizzair flight for a week in Alykanas, 31st October to 7th November.  Never been that late before, previously around 22nd October was the latest I've visited.  I would be going on my own so not sure whether or not to go as not too much will be open within walking distance of the accommodation so would probably need to hire a car.

Hi Sonia, I don’t know if you have a regular car hire company that you use out in the Canaries but when we used to go to G. Canaria & Tenerife on a very regular basis we always used the company in the link below. Never had a problem with them, on just the one occasion we had a car develope a fault and it was immediately changed and upgraded within a few hours. I will stress that it’s over 15 years since we last went across to our once favourite G. Canaria ( then we discovered Alykanas l.o.l.) but Autoreisen still operate with good online reviews. Hoping you get away and best regard’s as always Tony:-  https://autoreisen.com/car-hire/car-hire.php

So pleased to see people on here remain enthusiastic about travelling to the Greek islands, hope those that go have a brilliant time, whether it is quiet or not. It is still a well deserved break from doom and gloom here at home. :)
